How do the senses and embodiment enrich and deepen our creative practices? What sensory rituals help us better attend to our creative work? And what role do the senses play in some of our most significant memories?
I was honored to speak with oil painter Mary James Ketch about the ways the five senses enrich her creative practice.
A little more about Mary:
In addition to having her work collected around the world, Mary is in the public collection of the University of Oklahoma and has had partnerships with West Elm, Samsung and Minted.
She received her B.S. from the University of Oklahoma and M.F.A. from the University of Southern California.
And she has a behind the scenes feature on the PBS television show "Gallery America,” which you can watch here.
You can also visit her website to purchase original works or prints, including her new collection, Book Lovers.
